My name is Esmaya Wilson, and I am an artist. The love for color and eye for design was passed down to me from both my dad, and my grandmother, who both held their own roles in the arts and design industry as I was growing up.
Though I started with pencils and paint, I slowly developed a love for makeup, and the equally beautiful things that could be created on someone’s form.
I started with cosplay and costumes from some of my favorite TV shows or movies, and got really into home-made special effects makeup videos on YouTube. I also joined drama club in high school, and got to work on some super fun face paints and stage looks for a couple years, which really solidified my adoration of character makeup.
I grew up in Connecticut, but after high school my family and I moved to Vancouver, Washington. There I attended The Art of Makeup School in Lake Oswego, Oregon, and built on my knowledge of glamour and character makeup as well as picking up new skills such as prosthetic application and fabrication, hair tying, body painting, etc. I was given the opportunity to create some really amazing things, and it gave me a real stepping stone for a solid future as a makeup artist.
I still draw and paint as a side hobby/business, and run a few social media accounts that keep my creativity flowing.
I love collaborating with other creators and photographers to make some really fantastical and beautiful worlds and creatures come to life.
I’m also quite the extroverted people person, so meeting new clients, chatting with them, and creating the perfect looks for their attitude and event comes pretty naturally to me, and is something that I genuinely enjoy about this line of work.
I approach every model or client as a canvas, and work to create something unique and beautiful for every individual face and personality that sits in my chair.
I hope I get to work with you soon!
